Why we use it
- To answer your questions and give counselling.
- To prepare, submit and track applications, counselling registrations, option entry and reporting, on your instruction.
- To remind you of deadlines, fee dates and results for the exams you choose.
- To keep records required by law and to resolve disputes.
We process your data on the basis of your consent, or for the legitimate uses permitted by Section 7 of the DPDP Act, such as when you voluntarily give us data for a specific purpose. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Students under 18
For a student under 18, we process personal data only with the verifiable consent of a parent or lawful guardian, as Section 9 of the DPDP Act requires. We do not track the behaviour of children, monitor them, or target advertising at them.
How we protect it
We take reasonable security safeguards to prevent personal data breaches, including limiting access to the people working on your case. Portal passwords are used only for the task you asked for; we recommend changing them once admission is complete.
If a personal data breach happens, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board of India as the DPDP Act and its Rules require.
How long we keep it
We keep personal data for as long as needed for the admission cycle you engaged us for, and for follow-up questions after it. We then delete it, unless the law requires us to keep certain records for longer. You can ask us to delete it earlier, subject to those legal requirements.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you (or the parent or guardian of a student under 18) have the right to:
- get a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
- have it corrected, completed, updated or erased;
- withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it (this does not affect work already done, and may mean we cannot continue the service);
- have your grievances addressed; and
- nominate a person to exercise these rights if you die or become incapable.
To use any of these rights, contact us using the details below. You also have duties under Section 15 of the Act, such as not giving false information.
